Listening to Rodney Mullen speak about skateboarding gives me the shivers! Butterflies in my stomach! He is hands down one of my favorite people to listen to speak about the sport. Check out his Ted Talks.

Garden Parties and Flower Crowns
Enjoying a lush Montecito garden in the Summertime with friends while eating Swedish Sandwich Cake, playing games, and making fresh flower crowns was a day to that was meant to be captured. My high school friend Blake Bronstand and his girlfriend Pernilla hosted us for the afternoon at Blake's Mother's beautiful home. As fate would have it, Blake is especially talented behind the camera lens and so are his group of friends whom are quite the artistic bunch of Santa Barbara peeps. I had a whimsical day enjoying everyone's company and it felt great getting to know new and old friends again.
Enjoy the photos.

Hollister Ranch
Here in California we have been enjoying the long summer days with old friends and new friends. Taking time out of my day to get peace of mind away from cement roads and crowded beaches makes all the difference, especially with people who I call family. Just north of Santa Barbara, we are lucky to have pristine coastline and a ranch that many people dream of. Hanging out with The Hollisters at Hollister Ranch is as good as it gets. More summer days to come and a lifetime full of memories to make.
Saturdays NYC:: Bruce Weber
Just recently, I was gifted a new magazine called Saturdays NYC. I didn't put the magazine down, which is thick and heavy much like a coffee table book, for a couple of days and was very delighted and inspired by it's content. Saturdays NYC is a brand that currently has it's flagship retail location in SoHo, New York, with another in West Village, and two in Japan. I often feel so far removed from what is going on in NYC that it is refreshing to be reminded that yes, there is in fact a group of like minded individuals who enjoy surfing and its' culture there. While immersed in the Saturdays' glossy pages, I came across a spread on fashion photographer Bruce Weber. I was awe struck not only by his amazing ability to photograph men (just google him), but his knack to capture that special something about surfers that we all love- their blonde hair, tan faces, broad shoulders, and their ability to have fun all of the time. Just look at this picture of Laird Hamilton! AYE. Issue #2 has photographs of Christian Fletcher, Laird Hamilton (with Brooke Shields), Matt Archbold, Buzzy Kerbox, and more. Weber bridged the gap between surfers and the fashion industry and I can't thank him enough. Make sure to check out Saturdays NYC.

Exploring Ubud
My vacation to Bali would not have been complete without a trip inland to the town of Ubud. Kilian and I had spent many days at the beach and the thought of cooler temperatures, yoga, and site seeing sounded perfect. We spent a total of four days and three nights in Ubud and absorbed as many cultural experiences as we could including a visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest, breathtaking views of the famous rice terraces, spiritual experinces at Isanta Tampak Siring spring temple, coffee tasting at Satria coffee plantation, an evening of Balinese dance performances, eating at popular health conscious restaurants that put our taste buds on sensory overload, an elephant ride at Taro Park, and more. It was a part of my travels that I will never forget. I can't express the gratitude I have right now for being able to enjoy these experiences.
Thank you again for checking out my travel blog on Bali. xo
Saint Barbara:: Funk Zone Mural
After a long flight home from Bali, I woke up a day later to my favorite weekend in Santa Barbara, Summer Solstice. I was excited to get back into the swing of things here in SB and delighted that I had a second opportunity to paint in the Funk Zone. Laura Inks, the program director for the Funk Zone Community Art Project approached me for a weekend of painting during the Solstice festivities. Between hanging out with the other artists while we worked and the parade, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. My piece is a traditional homage to my town and all my friends who call them selves locals. Special thank you to Laura Inks, for helping me with the Saint Barbara lettering, and Gabe Marquez from 400 Media for getting this shoot organized. Learn more about Saint Barbara here, or Santa Barbara in Spanish if you prefer.

Eat Pray Surf
Traveling to Indonesia is quite the trek from California. It is the farthest my physical body has ever been from home and I couldn't imagine staying less than two weeks considering it takes two whole days to get there and another four for your body to adjust. A week into my vacation, Kilian and I were onto another adventure into the Bukit Peninsula. Canggu was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it there, but once my skin hit the 75 degree aquamarine water at Padang Padang, I was on a whole new level of my vacation. My relaxation went from a 6.5 to a 10 in a matter of 30 minutes considering how wound up I was. I carry a lot of stress inside my body and have a lot of energy bouncing around most days so for me this was incredibly therapeutic. We booked four days at this European Mexican lookin' villa hotel called the Pink Coco just above Padang Padang cove and loved it so much we decided to stay another three nights. They have a great Italian Trattoria restaurant there which was comforting and it was just minutes away from my favorite spot to eat on the whole journey- Buddha Soul. Kilian and I spent most days going to the beach early for his wave quota, eating an organic infused lunch, followed by a cultural experience to site see, back to the beach for the afternoon for a sunset dip and lounging at the pool. We did this for about seven days straight and it was at Padang Padang that I realized that I could potentially move to Bali and live this lifestyle for an extended period of time. I wish I could have taken more bohemian outfit inspired photos but I found myself in a bikini and sarong the entire time, it was incredibly hot and humid and anything more would have been uncomfortable. I was having my Eat Pray Love moment and gratitude was exploding out of me in all directions.
Enough said. Blessed to take such a long vacation! More photos to come from our stop in Ubud. xoxo

Bali Part 1:: Canggu
It is crazy to think I have been gone for almost a month. Being on vacation for 20+ days really allowed me to relax and emerge myself in a Balinese lifestyle. Everyday it was like a new layer of stress peeling away from my body and mind. I am slowly recovering from the most horrible case of jet-lag that I could have ever imagined and getting back into my Cali routine and it is crazy to think that just last week I was more than half the world away. I am not sure what "ahh-ha" moments I have came to but I know something is different, just trying to pin point what. I know it will come to me at the right time and amused that I took lots of photographs to remind myself of what inspired me. I thought I would start off with the first part of my trip in Canggu which is a small surf town just above Kuta. It was quite the little hipster town with plenty of waves and things to do. Lots of people told Kilian and I that it was like how Bali used to be before being built up. There is literally construction going on everywhere and in 5 years I can't even imagine what it will be like. Needless to say Bali is a hot spot for surf & yoga travel. The Island of the Gods, scared and a muse to many. Hope you enjoy the pics.
